Welcome to beachshore

A breath of fresh air

A family business, formed in 2004, Beachshore operates from the Isle of Thanet on the Kent coast and also from west London.

The two lead developers, Paul and Howard, have a combined experience in software, systems and website development of over forty-five years. Beachshore's ethos is customer focus, not just words but something integral to how we operate each and every day. We patiently and clearly answer any questions, helping to make understanding the process of what we do as straightforward as possible.

The Beachshore Team

Paul Carter

Paul Carter MBCS, Co-founder & Lead Developer

Paul has spent his career in software development and I.T. since graduating with a BA Honours degree in Computing, when they still programmed using punched cards. After thirteen years of travelling the world with a multinational computer company, and helping to save the world from the 'Millennium Bug', a change of focus resulted in him becoming a freelance software developer. The birth of Beachshore followed soon after and the rest is history. Paul has been developing websites since 1996 but those early examples are all now hidden firmly away from public view!

Away from Beachshore, Paul is a genealogist and is frequently called upon to speak to family history audiences and writing articles on using technology in genealogical research. He is a Professional Member of BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, and adheres to their code of conduct.

Diana Carter

Diana Carter, Co-founder & Company Administrator

Diana keeps the business running smoothly day to day with all the essential managerial tasks. A background in art and graphic design means she is sometimes able to put her spreadsheets to one side and work on client design projects.

When not working at her desk, Diana likes to take full advantage of the big sandy beaches on our doorstep, taking her dog for walks.

Howard Lush

Howard Lush, Technical Consultant

Howard runs the West London office, coordinating projects with a team of freelance staff. Starting young, Howard was using a home computer when still a toddler and while Paul likes to say he taught Howard everything he knows about computing, this lasted up until about the age of 7! Like Paul, Howard has a background career in software and web development, since completing a Masters degree in Computer Science at Bristol University.

After university Howard specialised in the sports website market, part of a team which produced websites and ticketing systems for professional rugby clubs and sporting organisations. These days, when he's not in front of his computer, Howard is often climbing around above stages of London's West End, working as a lighting technician for some of the biggest London shows.

The core team is supported by a number of freelance developers, designers, social media consultants and content writers.
